Impersonation Scam on TikTok and LINE Please Stay Alert
Dacheng Taiwan has been informed that an unknown individual is impersonating our partner, James Hsiao, on TikTok and within LINE groups. The impersonator is falsely claiming to provide legal services and directing people to pay “legal fees” using virtual currency, including Tether (USDT).
To avoid any confusion, we would like to clarify the following:
- James Hsiao does not maintain a TikTok account and does not solicit clients through social media in his personal capacity.
- Our attorneys do not initiate contact with members of the public via LINE or other messaging apps for the purpose of requesting payment. In particular, any communication requesting payment by virtual currency is not from our firm.
- If you receive any message claiming to be from Dacheng Taiwan or our attorneys that asks you to remit money, transfer virtual assets, or use any informal payment method, please treat it as suspicious and do not comply.
Impersonation of this nature may involve violations of privacy and other criminal offenses. Dacheng Taiwan reserves all rights to take appropriate legal action.
